Stromboli, also called “IDDU” by the locals, is an eruptive volcano. Just over 900 meters high, sailors have always considered it the lighthouse of the Mediterranean sea, since its “sciara” magma tongue exposed to the North-West was visible from many miles, facilitating navigation towards the Strait of Messina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
